Sports Massage

Sports Massage treatments are targeted to support fitness and wellness. Treatments help to reduce the demands that sport and general life place on the body, increases the ability to perform optimally and enhances and shortens recovery time.

Sports Massage GlossopEach treatment is tailored to you, treating your specific needs, be it sport, relaxation, fitness maintenance or aiming for peak performance.

With roots in deep tissue (Swedish) massage and lymphatic drainage, coupled with contemporary anatomical, physiological and biomechanical knowledge and utilising cutting edge fascial release techniques, we are able to work with you to get the results you want.

Remedial Massage is used for minor to moderate injuries. Rehabilitation Massage can be used for more severe injury or as part of a post surgical intervention plan promoting either specific or non-specific healing, stress reduction, and management of compensation patterns as part of the recovery process. If you are in need of specific treatment for your injury and a series of interventions which will help you get back to health, rather than an hour long passive massage treatment, PHYSIOTHERAPY may well be what you are looking for. Tim can always incorporate sports massage techniques into his physiotherapy treatments.

Who do we treat?

We treat sports men and women, mothers, dancers, fun runners, climbers, taxi drivers, office workers, travelling sales reps, musicians, accountants, photographers… you get the picture… we treat any body and everybody because everyone shares a common factor – we all have bodies which are susceptible to injury and stress. We all could benefit from some type of massage.

Benefits of massage:“Always being a runner, I did not see any need for massage therapy when I took up fell running. However, as my competitive spirit took over and I pushed myself harder, I became acutely aware of the need to look after my body more. Tim and Lynne’s reputation as some of the best massage therapists in the High Peak area convinced me to visit them and I have been amazed by the results. I have to admit that I was sceptical at first . However, my body has started to transform as a result and this has been reflected in my race times and results. These days, I am often asked, “How did you get so fast so quickly?” Some may say natural talent, but the truth is that Lynne and Tim have got a lot to do with it! In addition to their treatments, I have found their home from home but professional approach very inviting. I always look forward to my next session and the feeling of total relaxation that comes with it.” Claire Aspinall, Pennine Fell Runner
